The Measure of a Man: Sunday Afternoons in Small-Town America

During WWII major league baseball was put on hold while the idols of America’s youth went to war. It was a time that saw the rise of the woman’s league, the blossoming of the negro league, and the barnstorming of baseball’s wannabes. This is the story of what happened when the Dancing Deer City Council challenged one group of barnstormers to come play the men of Dancing Deer. With one wind under their belts, an unlikely alliance of misfits learn to play baseball from a woman. With the men on the city council wagering everything they can rake together that the home team will lose, the team places its trust in Harriet. She has two months.
